Annual Phuket Thailand Festivals:

Loy Krathong
Loy Krathong is one of the well-liked festivals in Thailand. It's in the 12th month of the traditional Thai lunar calendar so it usually falls in november in the western calendar.
The festival is celebrated to honour the Buddha Siddhartha Guatama.
The most beautiful and spectacular moment is the floating of the candle rafts (Khom Fai) into the air.

Songkran
Songkran is the Thai New Year which is celebrated every year from the 13th to 15th April.
At this time people return home to celebrate the festival with their family members and friends.
The younger generation go out to the streets and throw water to each other by using water guns and so on.
Many people also go to the Buddhism Temple and other blessed places to pray.

Chinese New Year
Many people in Thailand with Chinese ancestors celebrate the Chinese New Year (which is also known as the Lunar New Year) to make offerings to their gods (God of Land and God of Luck). Offerings include some different food, gold, money and clothes.
For tourists it will be a great time to experience the festival in the Chinese community. You can have great food and you will find many shopping stores especially in Phuket Town.
